History

The DC Knights baseball team is a perennial powerhouse playing in some of the most competitive baseball leagues in the DC Metro area. The Knights currently play in the FEDERAL BASEBALL LEAGUE in the summer months and in the Fall we compete in the DC WOOD baseball league. Combined, the Knights amass over 40 games of competitive baseball annually.

The Knights’ legacy began in the fall of 2005, when eighteen young men with diverse baseball and career backgrounds dusted off idle arms and bats, laced up old and worn cleats, and came out to play ball. They braved the scorching late summer heat, chilly April and late October cold, gridlocked DC traffic, and were the founding squad of the Northern Virginia Knights. In the seasons that followed, the Knights established themselves among the upper echelon of teams in DC, and have FOUR times reigned as league champions in (NABA DC Wood Fall 2006, NABA DC Wood Summer 2008, 2013 DC WOOD Fall, and 2018 Summer Fedball Champions).

The Knights have gained the respect of the league and their peers for the professionalism, integrity, and attitude they bring to each game. They show up to play ball, and have a great time doing it. Though many of its core players have moved on, the Knights’ will look to their talented veterans for leadership and promising rookies for motivation as the 2019 season approaches. Look for the Knights to continue to make an impact in the upcoming season build upon an already impressive legacy. Hold the Rope!
